Welcome to BYTW our classes consist of 26 postures and two breathing exercises, done in a mildly heated room. Every student has their first class and we encourage you to be patient with your practice, it takes about 3 to 4 classes to get acclimated to the heat and 10 to 15 classes done within 30 days to get the full benefits of the "Bikram Method".
Express Hot Yoga Class (50 Minutes)
Inspired by the "Bikram Method," this class is the same sequence of postures and heated environment that you have grown to love, but shorten to 50 minutes (Warm-up/Standing Series: 30-minutes & Floor Series: 20-minutes). This is the perfect class for those starting or maintaining a hot yoga practice - the class provides the maximum benefits of the "Bikram Method" in the shortest amount of time.

Enter the Yoga room in silence.
Please do not enter and start visiting. Go right into meditation or stretching. Your practice starts when you walk in. Visit with one another after exiting the class.
Never bring a cellular phone or pager into the practice room.
This does not mean turn off the ringer, because sooner or later you will forget. Leave it in your car. Remember 90% of stress is self-induced.
Arrive at least 10 minutes early*.
Entering class constantly late is very disruptive and disrespectful to the other students, and also to your nervous system. Consider being prompt as part of your practice.
*Sorry no late entry into our 50 minute Express Hot Yoga Classes.
If possible, bath prior to your practice.
Please do not wear perfume or any scent. Thirty or more people sweating in a closed space is less odorous than thirty or more people all wearing different brands of perfume. Also, people with allergies can be very sensitive to perfumes.
Practice on a an empty stomach.
It is recommended that you do not eat at least 2 hours before practice. If a special condition prevents this, eat easily digestible foods, i.e. fruit or yogurt one hour before class. Please refrain from smoking one hour prior to class. Keep others in mind.
Bottled water is the only food or beverage allowed in the practice room.
Bottled water is recommended before, during and after practice. It is important to drink plenty of water.
No shoes in the practice room.
In yoga, people put their hands, and sometimes their face on the floor. You are going to take your shoes off anyway, so please remove them at the door.
Abandon the competitive mind-set.
Yoga is absolutely non-competitive. It is not just a "work-out". It is not just "cross-training". It is a practice, which makes the body stronger, more flexible, and generally healthier. But the aim is to calm the mind, open the heart and accelerate our evolution.
Keep your eyes on your own practice.
We practice from the inside out. When you can finish your practice without knowing what the person next to you is wearing or even who else was in the room you’ll know you were truly focused.
Be kind and loving to yourself by accepting who you are.
Rest sometimes. "Do what you can, with what you have, with where you are. " Remember: "Wherever, whenever in our life we begin yoga, is perfect." No experience or flexibly is required.
Acquire and use your own mat.
Bring a towel and hand towel for use in class.
